Estra Duo, an award-winning Italian chamber music ensemble, was founded in 2020 by Aurora Orsini with the soprano Sofia Celenza. Known for their captivating stage presence, the duo combines the crystalline clarity of the soprano voice with the warm tones of the classical guitar. Both coming from diverse artistic backgrounds, their mission is to draw their audiences deep into chamber music through innovative and unique performances.

Their formative years were shaped by mentorship from esteemed figures in the classical music world. Guided by Giampaolo Bandini, guitarist of the renowned Bandini-Chicchiaretta Duo, they honed their skills and developed their distinct artistic voice. Their dedication to musical excellence led them to participate in a Masterclass on Brazilian Music led by the celebrated guitarist Sergio Assad, further expanding their repertoire and musical horizons.  

“Classical Folksongs” represents the main project of the Estra Duo, a musical adventure aimed at exploring and enhancing the rich original repertoire for classical guitar and soprano, drawing inspiration from folk songs. Through a journey spanning Europe and Latin America, the duo has crafted a musical itinerary that weaves through the diverse geographic locations of the composers. The culmination of this journey will be the release of the CD “Classical Folksongs” under the Da Vinci Publishing label in 2025, which aims to consolidate and share this exploration with the audience.
